Although globally there are numerous case studies that demonstrate the value of BIM implementation, an organisation will only really appreciate the full extent of the inherent benefits of BIM when it experiences them first hand.
Committing to anything ‘new’ is often difficult and things are not made easier if there are doubts as to the real value of what can be a significant investment.
If an organisation trusts that the process can be delivered correctly by providers, uncertainties will diminish.

Validating your Implementation

Demonstrating competency is part of life and most individuals possess things such as a driving licence and certification confirming educational/professional achievement.
Within the construction industry there are already many training and accreditation programmes that validate proficiency in technical or managerial activity.
However, when it comes to BIM and Interoperability, proving competency has been a somewhat inexact science, until now.

THE PANORAMA TOWER - Case study

Building in a challenging environment
The Panorama Tower construction site is located in the middle of an existing commercial centre in Espoo, Finland. This made it a challenging project logistically from the start.
During the project, a number of new functions in the building information modelling (BIM) environment were implemented in the structural design to improve efficiency in both the site logistics and building cost factors.
