Letting go of established ways and embracing the new ‘knowledge sharing’ culture.

Traditionally construction comprises a wide range of disciplines all producing a piece of the project jigsaw. Construction industry professionals know their role; they produce excellent work using skills honed over many years. Although expert in their own fields, they often have an incomplete understanding of either how other trades could benefit from their work or of why they should share information. It is thought that giving something away for nothing would erode competitive advantage. Likewise, the advantages inherent in sharing outputs from others are neither desired nor apparent.

In the midst of arguably the worst global recession ever seen, construction is suffering.
